The Ottawa Youth Engagement Committee (OYEC) consists of youth working in partnership with Youth Ottawa and the City of Ottawa to help encourage youth engagement and to amplify youth voice and representation at the City of Ottawa.

Youth Ottawa’s DILA Program offers high school civics teachers and students the opportunity to be active and engaged citizenship. Our simple formula of having youth “actually do something” about community issues has been adopted in over forty Ottawa high schools to date.

Youth Active Media (YAM), jointly-run with the Social Planning Council, is a neighbourhood-based videography initiative for youth.

The Cuts For Kids Foundation is a youth-led non-profit that tackles the issue of self-confidence among youth by offering a seat in their barber and salon chairs. In partnership with Youth Ottawa, their teams travel directly to Ottawa neighbourhoods and open up shop for a day.
