Olivia Sellier - alumni
Past DILA Coordinator
Olivia grew up in Alymer, QC and has called Ottawa home since 2004. A recent graduate of the Bachelor of Education program at the University of Ottawa, she is driven by the need to Indigenize curriculum and get youth outdoors. Over the last eight years Olivia gained experience teaching in Ottawa both as a museum professional and classroom teacher. She has also taught on reserves, and in remote Nunavut communities. Olivia believes that all youth, regardless of identity, location, or socio-economic status should have access to programs that develop resilience, confidence, and their ability to act on issues that matter to them. She earned her Master’s degree at York University, studying ‘collaboration for Indigenous and environmental educator in natural history museums’. Olivia sees herself as a link connecting multiple sectors and is the proud founder of Opportunity Stories, a platform for positive change specializing in Appreciative Inquiry.
